Navigating Comments
Within the comments report, there are various features that allow you to drill down, understand and organise the data. However, not all users will have access to all features! This will be dependent on your programme.
Read below to learn all the ways you can navigate your comments, or watch this short video.

Full Response Summary
This icon may only show if the respondent has agreed that their survey feedback be shared with the user. Click on the icon to view the full survey response (you can then also download the response as a PDF file).
Add to Action Register
(Only available if Action register is being used) If this icon appears next to a comment, the respondents record is not in your Action Register so that person has not asked to be contacted. If you feel the comment should still be acted upon, click this icon to add the response to the action register. If the survey was anonymous no contact details will be available but you can still address issues raised.
View in Action Register
(Only available if Action register is being used) If this icon appears next to a comment, you know that the respondents survey record is already in your Action Register. If you click this icon, you will automatically move to your Action Register and have that record displayed (assuming as a user you have permission to access the Action Register).
Exporting Comments
You may wish to conduct your own offline analysis of the comments displayed in your report. To do this, click on the download icon and select your file conditions.
Text Search Filter
You can also use the Text Search filter to search for specific words or phrases of your own choosing. This is located in the filter bar at the top of the report page. Simply type a word (or part of a word) into the text search filter and click Apply, just as you would for other filters.
You can choose to search for word match in your search content or exact phrase matches by enclosing in speech marks.
For example:
kind nurses --> returns all comments that contain the words "kind" and or "nurses"
"kind nurses" --> returns all comments that contain the exact phrase "kind nurses"

Word Cloud
At the bottom of the comments report you'll see a Word Cloud. The more frequently a word is used in responses, the larger it appears in the Word Cloud. In the example below, you can see that "nurses", "room" and "staff" are the most common words mentioned.
When you apply filters, or change the data range this will modify the word cloud accordingly.
Click on a word in the Word Cloud to filter the comments to only show those that contain that word.
